You Say You Love Me
You say you love me, then you just leave
After this many years, what am I to believe?
Our love was strong, our future was bright
I still can’t believe, you didn’t even fight.
You say you love me, but you will not stay
If I did nothing wrong, why do you hurt me this way?
We were best friends, we were never apart
What happened to the woman I love, what happened to your heart?
You say you love me, yet you won’t say why
You showed no emotion, you didn’t even cry.
We didn’t really talk, we really didn’t fight
You acted as a coward, you hid in plain sight.
You say you love me, but those feelings were not real
If you weren’t in love, what did you feel?
We were good together, remained friends through it all
And now that you’re gone, you don’t even call.
You say you love me, but you could not explain
You left me in tears, you left me in pain.
I thought we were in love, we started a life
I was a happy man, with you as my wife.
You say you love me, together we would grow old
You say you love me, or so I was told.
GL,
Thank you for your kind words. I wrote this poem back in March when I just needed to get some things out of my head. I have a few others which I may post as well, but this was my first.
JH93

Jayhawk, please do post your other poems. You have a gift that will not only be therapeutic for you but such a help to others here.
Poetry is such an awesome way to vent or rejoice or ponder. You bring comfort or heartful emotions that others can relate to.
Yes, we want to hear more from you. I hope things are improving somehow for you.
------------------
Fresh Start

Jayhawk,
From another Kansas man, that was beautiful. I probably have a poem just about exactly the same. Take care of yourself and thanks for sharing.
Bill
------------------
-There are none so blind as those who refuse to see!-
-Stand up and do the right thing, even if your standing alone.-
